Today marks 20 years since DPA Co-Director Scott Langley began what has become his life’s passion — combining photography with the work to stop executions. Maryland death row survivor Kirk Bloodsworth testifies before the committee. Bloodsworth, the first person exonerated from a death sentence using DNA technology, now serves as acting executive director of Witness to Innocence.

​And of course, Scott is in the middle of the action right now (Tuesday AM 3/26/19), documenting the New Hampshire Senate hearing on HB 455, the bill to abolish that state’s death penalty.

Former Virginia Corrections Officer (executed 60+) and Death Penalty Action Advisory Board Member Jerry Givens will be featured in tonight’s episode of Morgan Freeman’s “Story of God” series on the National Geographic channel. Scott provided several photos from Jerry’s appearance at the 2011 Fast and Vigil for the segment. The episode (Season 3, Episode 4) is scheduled to air this evening at 9 pm eastern / 8:00 pm central.
