Big Week To Stop Executions in Oklahoma!

Much is happening today and this week in Oklahoma. Charles Keith and I will arrive Sunday and Alli Sullivan joins the DPA away team on Monday as we arrive to support Oklahoma abolitionists. Please join us!

1–3pm on the North side of the Statehouse — Rally to Abolish the Death Penalty

6pm — Art Show for Julius Jones with art by Julius Jones and others.

TUESDAY 10/26 — Clemency Hearing Rally & March for Julius Jones. (see graphic above)

WEDNESDAY 10/27 — Clemency Hearing for Bigler Jobe Stouffer. Join the Visibility Action at 8am Wednesday, prior to the Parole Board hearing Wednesday morning at the Kate Barnard Center, 3300 N Martin Luther King Ave, Oklahoma City, OK, where the Parole Board will meet starting at 9am.

Thursday 10/28 — Execution Protest Vigils starting at 2pm CDT in advance of the scheduled execution of John Grant. Gather at 2pm outside the Governor’s mansion in OKC or outside the prison at McCallister, OK.

  1. Contact the Oklahoma Parole Board to urge that they recommend clemency for Julius Jones and Bigler Jobe Stouffer. Send an e-mail today to <> and then call the Parole Board at 405–521–6600 “Oklahoma does not need executions to hold people who have killed others accountable, and it need not resume them now. Please recommend clemency for Julius Jones and Bidler Jobe Stouffer.”
  2. Join the Visibility Action in front of the Governor’s Mansion, 820 NE 23rd St, Oklahoma City (Tuesday & Wednesday) from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Bring a sign & wear your t-shirt if you have one. We’ll have signs and shirts there as well.
  3. Click here to support Death Penalty Action’s work in Oklahoma.

Seeking New Leaders: If you would like to help convene people for regular “visibility action” protest and awareness-raising events in Oklahoma, please send a message to Sue Hosch at <>, or see her at one of the demonstrations this week. Thank you. I hope to see you!

Yours in the struggle,

— Abe
