“Powerful.” “Prayerful.” “Well done!”

That’s typical of the feedback from this afternoon’s first session of the week long conference we began creating just a week ago. Monday’s Schedule:

  • 11am EST: Legal experts dissect the Federal Execution Spree from a policy perspective and highlight specific issues of concern in the 5 pending executions. Also, the brother of the last prisoner killed with the firing squad laments its possible return.
  • 1pm EST: Murder victim family members and the mother of one of the men recently executed share their voices of experience, and pay tribute to Bill Pelke, founder of the Journey of Hope …From Violence too Healing.
  • 5pm EST: Journalists bear the burden of witnessing executions on behalf of the public. Hear from three who have witnessed recent federal executions, and the long view of a retired journalist who witnessed dozens. Moderated by Liliana Segura of The Intercept!
  • Detailed schedule is here, plus links to past panels, speaker bios, etc.
Sister Helen Prejean (above, with Bill Pelke) writes about the Federal Execution Spree and calls on us to act in this Op-Ed. See her short video, sign the petitions and more on the DPA Federal Executions Resource Page.

While you are there, be sure to register to hear Sister Helen and Amanda Knox keynote addresses (Wednesday) among many other amazing speakers at:
