Gallup: Support for Death Penalty Lowest in Decades
The Gallup poll released early this morning shows the lowest level of support for the death penalty in decades. This includes a 10% shift in favor of ending executions by Republicans and a 15% shift overall when the alternative of life in prison with no chance of parole is offered rather than the death penalty. 60% of American’s now prefer alternatives to the death penalty when given that option.
This does not just happen. Because of YOU, our movement is doing the work to educate the public and raise awareness of just how much capital punishment fails us as a public policy.
