Voices of Experience on the Death Penalty features leading figures in the world of death penalty abolition. Our premier broadcast will be March 31, 2020 at 10:30am.

Death Penalty Action invites you to the launch of our new LIVE interview program, Voices of Experience on the Death Penalty, featuring leading figures in the world of death penalty abolition. Our premier broadcast will be tomorrow:

Tuesday, March 31 at 10:30AM EDT

Live on the Death Penalty Action Facebook Page

featuring

Ron McAndrew, former warden at Florida State Prison

Ron McAndrew is a founding member of Death Penalty Action’s Advisory Board, but he has not always been a death penalty abolitionist. Serving as the Warden at Florida State Prison in Starke, Florida, Ron oversaw the last three electric chair executions prior to that state switching to lethal injection as its execution method. Ron retired soon after that, and it wasn’t long before he began to raise his voice in opposition to the death penalty. Ron is a veteran, a pro-life Catholic, and a conservative Republican.

Hear how Ron’s experiences shaped him as the leader he is in our movement today, and how you can help further his message.

Join us live starting at 10:30am on the Death Penalty Action Facebook page. We’ll be taking your questions in the comment section. The program will be archived in case you are unable to watch it live.

As we begin this new program to provide information and inspiration to take action to stop executions and end the death penalty in the United States, we welcome your feedback, ideas, and suggestions for others to interview as well as for a new logo for this project. Please reply to this e-mail with your input.

With hope, love and prayers for everyone impacted by the pandemic,

Scott Langley and Abraham J. Bonowitz

Death Penalty Action Co-Directors
