Pigs Flying In Ohio: Conservative Newspaper Calls for Abolition!
Perhaps you have heard the saying, “That will happen when pigs fly!” Well, today, after years of edging away from its long-held support for and promotion of the death penalty, the Columbus Dispatch concluded thusly:
“The only reason left for execution is vengeance, which is not an element of justice or the proper business of the state. It’s time for Ohio to do away with the death penalty.”
ACTION OPPORTUNITY: Print out the editorial (or clip it if you live near Columbus and can get a hard copy). Highlight the concluding sentence and add your own note of encouragement. Then send it along to Governor DeWine and if you live in Ohio, your own Ohio legislators.
Here’s the address:
Governor Mike DeWine
Riffe Center, 30th Floor
77 S. High St.
Columbus, OH 43215
