Thank you. You opened the e-mail. You took action one way or another. YOU helped make the difference!

In case you have not yet heard, earlier today Ohio Governor John Kasich issued a reprieve in the case of Ray Tibbetts, who was scheduled to be killed next week. There is still work to be done, but this is a BIG step in the right direction!

As I wrote to you yesterday, there have been more than 1100 executions in my nearly 30 years as an abolitionist, but in very few cases have phone calls really made the difference between life and death. Ray Tibbetts’ case in Ohio is one of them.

YOUR CALLS made the difference!

NEXT STEPS:

#1 — Call Governor Kasich to thank him for calling off the execution. 614–466–3555

#2 — Visit Death Penalty Action’s Facebook & Twitter pages to share messages about the case with your own networks. “Like” the Facebook page. “Follow” us on Twitter.

#3 — Chip in! Death Penalty Action is a full-on partner in the Ohio effort. We’ve already begun working to stop the April 11 execution of William Montgomery, a man with a very strong innocence claim. Thank you!
