There’s an execution set for Wednesday in Georgia. Georgia’s Board of Pardons and Paroles stopped an execution last week, and almost immediately a new date was set for a different prisoner. Donnie Cleveland Lance was convicted in the 1997 murders of Sabrina “Joy” Lance and Dwight “Butch” Wood Jr.

Ed Weir was a leader in the anti-death penalty movement in Georgia for many years. Here he protests an execution. As to the URL, CUADP no longer exists, and its creator founded Death Penalty Action instead. Visit www.DeathPenaltyAction.org — the phone number in the sign still works = 800

This will be the sixth execution in Georgia in the last 2 years. Georgia is 1 of 8 states that still actively use the death penalty while the majority of states are abandoning this practice.

Death Penalty Action will deliver your petition signatures to the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles before they meet on Tuesday, and to the Governor on Wednesday if the Board does not stop the execution..

Please sign the petition right now, and then use the sharing tools to push it out further on your social media.

Thank you,
