Sign Now to Stop the Next Texas Execution (Abel Ochoa on 4/6/2020)
There’s an execution set for Thursday in Texas. Abel Ochoa was convicted in the 2002 murder of Cecelia Ochoa, Crystal Ochoa, Ana Ochoa, Bartolo Alivizo, and Jacqueline Saleh. More information about this case is here.
Tomorrow Texas’s Board of Pardons and Paroles will receive all of the signatures we gather by 10AM EST. Please add your name!
This will be the second execution in Texas this year, with seven others scheduled in 2020 so far. Texas is one of eight states that still actively use the death penalty while the majority of states are abandoning this practice.
Death Penalty Action will deliver your petition signatures to the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles before they meet on Wednesday (tomorrow), and to the Governor on Thursday if the Board does not stop the execution.
Please sign the petition right now, and then use the sharing tools to push it out further on your social media.
Click Here to take action on other pending executions, including the one in Tennessee on February 20th. Petitions for the executions scheduled in March will be added shortly.
